VINYASA KRAMA:
Five Unique Sequences
Experience the ancient method of Yoga retold in these
five flowing Vinyasa Series.
They are called the Moon Sequence, the Lion Sequence, the Bound
Sequence, the Flying Sequence and the Fifth Sequence. Each series
emphasises different aspects of the body and mind to create an overall
Yoga program for any level of ability. They progress through basic,
intermediate and advanced asana. The first two series are a great
introduction to Yoga for the beginner and the later series offer
inspiring possibilities for the experienced practitioner. Alternatives
are provided for each of the sequences with practical and safe guidance
for adapting to many individual difficulties and injuries. Each of the
sequences is linked to specific breathing and meditation techniques
which are accessible and safe for all levels. In addition this book
provides a comprehensive visual asana library displaying over 850
individual postures. Vinyasa Krama is an extensive one of a kind
resource for teachers and students of any Yoga tradition.
Vinyasa Krama is designed in similar user friendly fashion like Ashtanga
Yoga As It Is: A black and white landscape design, spiral bound along
the top edge. In addition it has been printed in a large A3 sized
format to illustrate the sequences and postures with greater clarity.
PLEASE NOTE: To all prospective customers, the above book is of
large A3 size and often bends during the delivery process. All basic
damage to these books will be at the customers own risk.

Ashtanga Yoga
As It Is
3rd Edition
This book is a comprehensive guide to the first four
sequences
of Ashtanga Yoga: Primary, Intermediate, Advanced A and
Advanced
B as taught by Shri Krishna Pattabhi Jois. To date this
is the
only book available which details all of the first four
traditional sequences of Ashtanga Yoga.
The third edition of Ashtanga Yoga As It Is contains an
extensive range of new material, providing many relevant
techniques on breathing, Asana, Bandha and Drishti. It
offers
insight into the practical application of Yoga
philosophy
including information on the Chakra, Granthi, Nadi and
the Yoga
sutras of Patanjali. The photographic section of the
book
visually depicts all of the postures, movements and
breaths of
the first four traditional sequences. It also presents
the
correct Sanskrit transliterations and the traditional
Vinyasa
counting for every posture. The first two editions of
the book
(which are currently out of print) are a simple and
beautiful
visual presentation of only the Asana for the
traditional
series.
Ashtanga Yoga As It Is provides an exploration of both
the
physical and psychological aspects of the practice. It
aims to
shed light on some core Yoga concepts and relevant self
development principles. It covers the main points of the
Ashtanga tradition including many previously unwritten
rules
advocated by Shri K. Pattabhi Jois. This is a one of a
kind map
to the traditional Vinyasa method.
Printed on black and white satin durable paper, the book
is
presented in an A4 (29x21cm) landscape format. It is
spiral
bound which makes it ideal for placing beside the Yoga
mat. |

The following two downloads are an additional
resource for
Ashtanga Yoga As It Is.
The first download is an abbreviated version of the
Primary Series and
involves the majority of the standing postures and just a few sitting
postures and back bending. This sequence is a useful alternative when
you
do not have the time or energy to do your regular practice but will
still
give you plenty of scope to work with the traditional flow and focus.
This
condensed practice is easy to print and place beside your yoga mat.
ABBREVIATED PRIMARY PRACTICE @ USD5.00
The second download is for those students who have
ongoing knee issues or a
knee injury. It combines both the Primary and Intermediate Series while
omitting all the postures that compress or endanger the knees. If you
have
the ability to work through the Primary and Intermediate Series but are
not
sure how to proceed, this sequence will be ideal for you.
PRIMARY AND INTERMEDIATE KNEE SEQUENCE @ USD5.00
For greatest ease in readability and quality have these
sequences printed on standard A4 sized paper. If you
prefer a
larger format then you can scale them up to an A3 size
and take
them to a professional printer for the best possible
quality.

Moon Sequence
Poster: Chandra Krama
Chandra Krama is intended for practice around the time
of the full moon or the new moon, or simply when you are feeling a
little tired and you do not wish to do an overly heating practice.
Practicing an alternative gentle sequence at these times of the month
is ideal so you can avoid strain and injury. However, I am not
advocating using the Moon Sequence as an excuse to practice 6 or 7 days
per week. If you do have a regular Ashtanga Yoga practice, the Moon
Sequence should be done instead of practicing a traditonal
sequence (once per week) rather than in addition to it. The Moon
Sequence can balance the tendency to become overactive, achievement
oriented and possibly underweight. Use this sequence to become aware
of your changing internal condition as influenced by the waxing and
waning of the moon. Practiced with patience Chandra Krama is rewarding
and strengthening.
Although there are no jumps in this sequence the core
principles of movement and breath are maintained. The emphasis of
Chandra Krama is on the hips and mid-section of the body, with
decreased emphasis on upper body strength and the knees. The Moon
sequence is a great alternative if you find the particular focus in the
traditional series has caused some instability, injury, or is simply
unsuitable for you. This has therapeutic benefits, giving you the
chance to continue a regular practice without adding further strain or
injury to a problem. You will give your body the chance to heal, and
you can then step back into your regular practice sooner rather than
later.
